Ten of our branches across Coastal Georgia will either host or celebrate the event, generally taking place from 10am to 2pm. Each branch will offer unique activities tailored to the community it serves.

This Tuesday, March 25, Healthy Savannah is inviting the public to meet up to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Healthy Walks.
Participants will gather at 7:30AM in the parking area at Scarborough Sports Complex, Skidaway Road at Bona Bella Ave. in Savannah.
Healthy Savannah’s Physical Activity Program Manager Devin Frails and Executive Director Armand Turner will lead a low-impact two-mile walk along a portion of the Tide To Town Urban Trail system known as the Truman Linear Park Trail, which is level and accessible, with wide, paved walkways and highly visible pedestrian crosswalks.
The walk will last about an hour and end back at the starting point.
Come for an afternoon of clay exploration and fun on Monday, March 31 2025, 2-5pm! Day of Clay is an annual event held at the Otis S. Cultural Arts Center (formerly called the Savannah Cultural Arts Center) that is free and for all ages.
The event features stations on the lawn with various activities such as wheel, hand building, family activities, and more with take home projects.
This year will feature a more accessible layout for those with mobility needs. All experience levels are welcome. Parents/guardians must accompany children ages 14 and under at all times. Come by any time between 2 and 5pm, no pre-registration required.

The Town of Thunderbolt announces the return of the fourth annual Blessing of the Fleet Festival, a cherished tradition honoring the community’s vibrant maritime heritage. Under Mayor Dana Williams’ administration, this year’s festival will be presented by Tubby’s Tank House and JIT Logistics and is planned for Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 11 am to 5 pm on River Drive along the Wilmington River in Thunderbolt.
The day kicks off with a parade down River Drive, showcasing an impressive lineup of food trucks and more than 100 vendors offering delicious food, art, crafts, clothing, and more. Attendees can enjoy live performances, music, and a beer garden throughout the day, culminating in the iconic Blessing of the Fleet ceremony, where all boats are invited to participate.
Originally celebrated as a way to pay tribute to Thunderbolt’s vibrant shrimping and fishing industries, the day now seeks to honor the legacy of the community’s foundation. On hiatus since the 1980s, the festival triumphantly returned in 2022 with more than 3,000 in attendance. The Blessing of the Fleet tradition started in the early 1900s when a priest or pastor brought all the shrimp boats together and blessed them for a successful, safe, and prosperous shrimping season. Over the years shrimp boats and other vessels were included in the Blessing. Thunderbolt will continue to honor the Town’s community and legacy, by providing events to strengthen, educate, and improve community development. During Fort Pulaski’s eighteen years of construction, hundreds of people of all backgrounds lived on Cockspur Island. Archeological work into the Workers Village has led to fascinating findings about how these people lived. Join a park archeologist or staff member for a guided walk revealing this period in Fort Pulaski National Monument’s history.
The guided walk follows the North Pier Trail and is about .5 miles total (out-and-back). The trail is either paved or on hard-packed sand, but some archeological resources are in grassy areas. Remember to bring water and bug spray.
Ranger Talks at Fort Pulaski take place inside of historic Fort Pulaski daily. These programs typically begin in the fort’s parade ground, but start locations vary based on weather conditions. Call the Fort Pulaski National Monument Visitor Center (912-219-4233) for more information.

Fort Pulaski National Monument’s Junior Ranger Program is a fun way for kids to get the most out of their fort visit.
Children (and adults) of all ages can participate in the Junior Ranger Program. Handbooks are available inside the Visitor Center. By doing the activities, children earn a badge and a certificate. It may take up to two hours to complete the book.

A free community event, Junior League of Savannah’s Fit Kids Fest focuses on the importance of a healthy body and mind by introducing kids and their parents to fun activities designed for children of all ages.

Calling all homeschooling families! Amplify your student’s artist journey with an enriching workshop at the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah. In this immersive experience, education and creativity collide to offer a field study for homeschooled students.
This event presents a unique opportunity for your students to acclimate into the art world as observers and creators. While they feed their creative minds among the exhibitions, they’ll meet other students and foster lasting community connections.
What to expect:
Artist appreciation: Encounter the work of diverse artists while touring the SCAD Museum of Art’s galleries with a museum educator.
Artmaking: Express creative ideas at interactive art stations equipped with the necessary materials and guidance to create art inspired by work seen in the museum.
Build community: Connect with other homeschooling families who share a passion for art and education.
Learn as you go: Deepen your appreciation for the world of visual expression while learning more about art styles, social significance, and the use of varied materials.

Free museum admission for Savannah Residents – Second Sunday, all day
SCAD MOA in Savannah welcomes our Savannah community to enjoy free admission on the second Sunday of every month. Residents of Savannah or any of its surrounding counties (Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty, Beaufort, and Jasper) are invited to visit free of charge.
Enjoy a free screening of the movie Rise of the Guardians and craft on Friday, December 27 2024 starting at 1:00pm! This is a great activity for the whole family and kids will take home a completed craft.
Santa Claus, Jack Frost, the Sandman, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy team up to fight a phantom who steals children’s dreams and replaces them with fear. Rating: PG

Christmas on the River will be part of the featured entertainment during the Savannah Christmas Market at Plant Riverside District . A variety of dance and musical acts will be featured on Friday evening Dec 13 and Sat. Dec. 14.
The star of the show, 32nd Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, is Sat. Dec. 14, 2024 featuring bands, floats, dancing groups. The parade begins at Plant Riverside District on the west end of River Street at 5:30PM and continues to the east end up to Broughton Street and through City Market.
