Meet first at 1 p.m. at the Jepson Center to tour the exhibition ‘Helen Levitt: In the Street’ and discuss her use of composition, value, and narration before setting out on a 2 ½ hour tour of downtown Savannah with your sketchbook. Moving as a group, we will stop at three downtown locations and seek out opportunities to produce Helen Levitt-inspired sketches of people in Savannah. We will conclude with a review of sketches. Join the Savannah Children’s Choir for “When I Rise Up”, the 2014 Spring Concert and Tribute to Graduates.

Learn the art of storytelling through pictures! You will learn from some of the best storybooks, illustrators, and graphic novel artists and use them to create new inspired works of art.

A Sailor’s Life: Week: July 14-18
Mermaids, Pirates, and all things nautical inspire this week’s artwork. You’ll make Pirate ships, Popeye puppets, Flapjack & Bubbe paintings, and even Ariel too. Anchors away!

Creative Kids: Week: July 21-25
Expressive art will be the focus of this week, teaching us the importance of creativity, light, and color. You will paint and collage our way through beautiful individual works and some collaborative ones too!

Renaissance Art Revitalized: Week: July 28-Aug 1
Let’s bring Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Raphael into the modern age! Learning about these famous artist and more such as Van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, and Degas will teach classic techniques. Then you’ll add a twist to make for a personal, unique touch!

The Savannah Christian Preparatory School Fine Arts Council presents Disney’s PETER PAN JR at Trustees’ Theater, 216 E Broughton St, Savannah, 31401.

This musical adventure is based on the play by J.M. Barrie and the 1953 Disney film. The cast is comprised of 69 3rd through 12th grade students, selected by audition.

Peter Pan JR. features classic songs from the 1953 film such as, “You Can Fly!,” “Following the Leader” and “The Second Star to the Right” as well as songs from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the 2008 Disney film Tinker Bell.
