Savannah Fourth of July: Stars & Stripes Celebration at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum

Stars & Stripes Celebration featuring family events, Fri. July 3, Savannah

Looking for a fun, family-friendly way to kick off the July 4th weekend in Savannah?

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum is hosting a Stars & Stripes Celebration on Friday, July 3 from 12–6 PM, with plenty for kids and families to enjoy throughout the museum and gardens.

Families can play patriotic mini golf, enjoy live music from the Savannah Local All Stars, keep the celebration going with DJ Jimmy Butcher, grab hot dogs from Naked Dog, cool off with Leopold’s Ice Cream and King of Pops, play cornhole, take photos at festive selfie stations, and explore the museum along the way.

The museum’s current exhibition, Drawn to the Sea, will also be on full display. This family-friendly exhibition brings maritime history to life through illustration, storytelling, comics, and artwork inspired by real ships and Savannah’s connection to the sea. It’s a great way for kids to experience history in a colorful, creative, and accessible way.

This is a great daytime option for families looking for something festive before the evening fireworks and holiday weekend plans. Tickets are $22, and children 3 and under are free. Ships of the Sea members at the Yacht level and above also receive free admission to the event.
