(Savannah Holidays 2017) Register for Savannah Santa Train
Tickets are now available for one of the largest annual holiday events of the Lowcountry: Savannah Santa Train 2017.
Savannah Santa Train will be Sat. Dec. 9, 2017, 9AM-5PM @ Georgia State Railroad Museum, 655 Louisville Rd., Savannah.
Tickets: $15 per person for all guests eighteen months & older. Pre-registration is required at chsgeorgia.org/santa-train. Train rides are available every twenty minutes, so please select a time to reserve your spot. Activities-only tickets are also available for guests who do not wish to ride the train.
In addition to taking a holiday-themed ride on a steam locomotive, other highlights at this popular event include:

*caroling from Savannah Stage Company
*design a banner for local hospital patients with Savannah Children’s Museum’s “Carts with heART” program. festive,
*seasonal activities with Tails from the Lowcountry
*create holiday T-shirts with Maven Makers
*interact with arctic animals with Oatland Island.
*how to shoulder a musket during Toy Soldiers Training,
*engaging in STEAM learning to see how a chimney works during Chimney Science,
*celebrating different cultures during a “Holidays Around the World” scavenger hunt,
*taking a holiday-themed ride on a steam locomotive and sharing a Christmas wish with Santa Claus.
Donations, food, shopping
The Salvation Army will have donation stations at this event as well as an Angel Tree Donation Drive to benefit under-served children in our community. To participate, please bring an unwrapped, newly purchased gift for a child to the Angel Tree station during the event. The Salvation Army will also be bringing their mobile Canteen with free donuts, coffee and hot chocolate.
Visitors can purchase a gourmet grilled cheese from The Big Cheese food truck and have a sweet treat for dessert from Leopold’s Ice Cream.
Savannah Santa Train guests are invited to do some holiday shopping for unique, fun and educational gifts in the Georgia State Railroad Museum gift shop. On Sat. Dec. 9 there will a 15% discount on all merchandise.
