Circus review: Magic and animals entertain (Savannah kids’ activities)
“How did they do that?”
That was a common comment heard during Thursday’s opening night of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus @ Savannah Civic Center. The performance was as much magic show as it was animal acts. Sure, there were the parading Asian elephants, strutting lions and (my and my 1-year-old daughter’s favorite) prancing ponies ridden by animated dolls. But the magic tricks are what continue to boggle your mind on the ride home after the Greatest Show on Earth.
Gather up the kids and go if you want to be perplexed by some pretty sly sleights of hand. Just don’t wrack your brains trying to figure it out. Sit back and let yourself be astonished.
It’s the not knowing that’s the best part.
