Last Game Day / Kids Karaoke for 2023 is this Sunday Nov. 19, 11AM-2PM @ The Magical World of Toys, a new toy store in Savannah’s Live Oak neighborhood off Waters Avenue.
Savannah’s new toy store The Magical World of Toys is having a case of the missing cake detective nights throughout the month of November to celebrate Neighborhood Toy Store Month.
This is a free event for kids aged 4 to 10. There is only space for 10 families a night, so RSVP to reserve your spot.
Kick off the holiday season with Telfair’s annual tree lighting celebration sparking joy and bringing the community under one roof.
A hot cocoa bar, delicious cookies, and children’s art activities will take place in the Telfair Academy.
Be sure to pick up holiday gifts in the museum shop—especially brilliantly colored Delftware ornaments representing Telfair’s three sites are waiting to go to good homes.
The holiday tree will be on view until Jan. 8, 2024.
This free event starts @ sunset about 5:45PM and runs from Alder Lane-South Forest Beach to Lowcountry Celebration Park on Hilton Head Is.
The only requirement to participate is having a lantern. Lineup for the parade begins at 5PM at the Alder Lane Beach Access. The parade starts 5:45 PM, right after sunset, and travesl north along South Forest Beach up to Coligny Beach Park.
Spectators can watch along the beach anywhere between Alder Lane and Coligny Beach Park.
Celebrate the Magic of the Season at City Market with special Holiday Nights celebratio, kicking off 6:30-9:30PM Fri. Nov. 24.
City Market transforms into a wonderland filled with holiday music and delights. Throughout the entire month, immerse yourself in the holiday spirit with Holiday Nights in City Market! In conjunction with Old Town Trolley – Holiday Sights and Festive Nights Tour, City Market will host a month long evening event.
Visit with Father Christmas: Bring your little ones for a visit and photo with Father Christmas.
Youth who are blind or visually impaired are invited to the Savannah Cultural Arts Center for a guided tour of the center’s gallery exhibition, Beyond Sight. Beyond Sight is a multisensory exhibition that invites visitors to experience art on a deeper level through touching, hearing, and interacting with the artwork.
Following the tour, there will be an interactive workshop with one of the artists from the exhibition.
Siblings and friends of all abilities are welcome, space permitting.
This free event will take place at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center located at 201 Montgomery St.

Telfair Museums will celebrate the conclusion of the Community in Conversation: Legacy of Slavery in Savannah initiative with a Free Family Day on Sat. Oct. 14 2023 from 10AM to 5PM,
Visitors can enjoy free admission to all three of Telfair Museums’ sites (Jepson Center, Telfair Academy, and the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters) as well as special programs and activities at the Jepson Center.
The festivities will include live local performances, engagement with community partner organizations, and curator-led tours of the art exhibitions Richmond Barthé: Harlem Renaissance Sculptor, Created Beasts: Sculpture by Ulysses Davis, and the Telfair Academy. Art activities for all ages will take place from 1-4pM along with treats provided by Savannah Square Pops.
The day of fun will conclude with a family-friendly puppet parade around Telfair Square.

On Saturday, October 7, Plant Riverside District will host the 2023 Savannah Wiener Dog Races, organized by Savannah’s Waterfront.
Registration begins at 9AM with races starting at 11AM in Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.
Race heats are open to Dachshunds as well as “Almost Wiener Dogs,” with proceeds benefiting Savannah’s Waterfront.
Apart from the fastest run awards in all categories and weights, there will be exciting contests such as best dressed dog, best-dressed dog owner, and more. Entry cost is $25. The grand prize winner will receive a special trophy as well as a $100 credit for Yappy Hour at Electric Moon.

Come to Skidaway Marine Science Day, a popular, annual can’t-miss event for all ages, on Sat. Oct. 14, from noon to 4PM on the UGA Skidaway Marine Science campus, located on the north end of the island. The campus-wide open house will be presented by UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography and Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary.
As part of Skidaway Marine Science Day, the UGA Aquarium will be open to visitors with no admission fee. Aquarium educators will offer an afternoon full of activities, including a hands-on reptile exhibit, behind-the-scenes peeks of the aquarium and lab studies on the dock behind the facility.
Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant’s Shellfish Research Lab will provide behind-the-scenes tours of Georgia’s only oyster hatchery and share efforts by researchers to make oyster aquaculture a more durable and sustainable coastal industry.
In addition, environmental organizations and researchers studying important coastal issues will have tables with a variety of exhibits and hands-on activities for people of all ages.
All activities at Skidaway Marine Science Day are free. Food will be available for purchase.
