Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center in Savannah will offer a variety of kid-friendly happenings for Summer 2022. Here are some:

Monthly Art Start & Toddler Tours Program for Toddlers, Preschoolers @ Jepson Center

Start your day with art with Jepson Center’s new and combined programs.

Once a month, the museum’s youngest patrons are invited to the Jepson Center for story time, a special tour, and an art activity. Strollers, crying babies, toddlers, and older siblings are all welcome here.

$5 per child
Adults: members free | non-members $12

Featured Family Studio Program: Abayomi doll making workshop with Aisha Sinclair

Sunday June 19, 1-3PM

$25 per parent child, $15 adult. All materials included.

Abayomi doll making workshop with Aisha Sinclair
Abayomi is a Yoruba word for “precious meeting.” During the transatlantic slave trade from Africa, mothers would often take pieces of cloth from their skirts and make these dolls to help keep hope and remember their children.

Learn to make your own in this featured Juneteenth studio program open to all ages.

Sat. June 18 at 10AM–5PM @ Jepson Center

Hands-on art activities will take place from 1–4PM. Drumming and libation ceremony will take place at 1PM with performances to follow.

Blow-up Free Family Day with Activities @ Jepson Center

Sat. Aug. 20 at 10AM–5PM @ Jepson Center

Hands-on artmaking and inflatable art demonstrations from 1–4PM. Telfair offers a back-to-school family event with activities based on the museum’s exhibition of large-scale inflatable art.

The event will include balloon and sculpture activities, inflatable art by local artists, and bouncy house fun in Telfair Square.
