Sand sculpture, train rides, double-decker carousel during Summer 2013 @ Savannah Mall

Savannah Mall summer sand sculpture and train ridesHere’s a different activity for hot summer day: Check out the new 75-ton sand sculpture in the center court of Savannah Mall. The sculpture features a summer animal theme and incorporates some of the animals from the mall’s double-decker carousel.

Sand sculptors from Sandtastic created the sculpture, which will be up until Labor Day. See photos of the sculpture’s progression from a pile of sand to the completed masterpiece on the Savannah Mall Facebook page by clicking here.

The sculpture’s wild animal theme ties into Savannah Mall’s community partner Oatland Island Wildlife Center. Be sure to see a whale bone display from Oatland Island June 1-Sept. 1 at center court.

Kids can also take train rides around center court from June 1- Labor Day. Train rides are $2.
