Savannah Art Workshop: Preschool Caterpillar for ages 4-6

Studio S.P.A.C.E. invites preschoolers ages 4 – 6 to experience the Youth Workshop, Preschool Caterpillar. This educational workshop is Sat. Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Cultural Affairs Department at 9 W. Henry St.

Preschool Caterpillar is inspired by the popular children’s book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. For only $10, preschoolers will create a 3D caterpillar and butterfly utilizing a variety of mediums. Instructor Layla Mayville will instruct students about the lifecycle of a caterpillar to a butterfly.

“The Very Hungry Caterpillar” follows a caterpillar as it eats its way through a wide assortment of food before pupating and emerging as a butterfly. The book also features educational themes that correspond with counting, metamorphosis, and art. It has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and has been described as one of the greatest childhood classics of all time.
