FREE Reopening Celebration @ The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, Savannah 

You’re invited to celebrate the renovation and reopening of The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace in Savannah and 110 years of Girl Scouts at a free community-wide outdoor Reopening Celebration on Sat. March 12, noon-4PM. This event will feature music by DJ José Ray, snacks, and activities for the whole family.

Tour the recently completed renovations to the most accessible historic site in the city. It’s a perfect opportunity to learn more about accessibility.

Family Fun Day @ Camp Low in Savannah

Family Day 2019 Girl Scouts Camp Low Savannah Girl Scout of Historic Georgia Family Fun Day at Camp Low.

Families are invited to come and find their wild at a Family Fun Day on Sun. Sept. 15, 2019, 1-4PM @ Camp Low on Rose Dhu Island in Savannah. This will be an afternoon of fun-filled activities for all ages.

Activities will include archery, climbing rock walls, low and high ropes, s’mores, yard games, fishing, pool time, face painting, arts and crafts, The Big Cheese Food Truck and much more.

Your child does not have to be a Girl Scout to attend. If girls are interested in joining Girl Scouts, there will be onsite registration for the new year. COST: $5 per car for the event.

Kids ages 5 and under take over the kitchen for the most creative culinary experience in town! Join us for an exciting Tiny Tots Cooking Party including cooking, learning, singing, and story time! Seats are limited and advanced tickets are required! Tickets are $15 per child and one responsible adult per child is required. Register here. 

12:30-2pm: Kids’ Cooking Party
Kids ages 6 and up can join us to make some delicious kid-friendly dishes in the TTF kitchen! Everyone gets to mix, measure, stir and dine on their culinary creations! Join Massie Heritage Center in Savannah for two Girl Scout Days.

Saturday, July 11 2015: Girl Scout Life in Mid-19th Century Savannah program.

Participants will create heritage crafts, play traditional Victorian games, partake in a simulated 1850’s school day in Massie’s Historic Classroom, including writing with quill pens, and much more.

Depending on the level of the scout, students may also complete “chores” such as making candles and butter, or explore some of the historic squares of downtown Savannah on a short walking tour. They will also be earning the Listening to the Past Brownie Try-it Badge or Playing the Past Junior Badge and will have several items to bring home.

Saturday, July 25 2015: Girl Scout Georgia’s Native Peoples program.

Participants will learn about the Muscogee and Cherokee Indians of Georgia as they create clay effigies or pottery, hear traditional stories and play native games and tour all of the exhibits at the Massie Heritage Center, including Massie’s Native American room with authentic artifacts.

Depending on the level of the scout, students may also cook cornbread and plant seeds or learn about the Trail of Tears and take a walking tour to see the gravesite of Tomochichi, the Mico (leader) of the Yamacraw Indians. They will also be earning the Georgia’s Native Peoples Brownie Try-It Badge or Junior Badge and will have several items to bring home.

Girls interested in Girl Scouts as well as girls who are already scouts can come out & do a whole bunch of fun science activities. Make your own lava lamp! Make a rock you can eat! Learn about what makes a parachute work! Make an art robot bug! Fun fun fun!

And FREE.

Moms can come learn how to find a troop for your daughter, and of course, if you are interested in learning how to lead a troop or co lead, come on out and learn how.

Register by Jan. 30 for Girl Scouts “Bridging” across the Talmadge Bridge or in Forsyth Park

Did you know the Girl Scouts celebrate their 100th Anniversary in 2012?

Local celebratory events include a traditional bridging event over the Talmadge Bridge followed by a party in Forsyth Park. An additional ceremony will take place simultaneously at Forsyth Park for younger Girl Scouts and anyone that may not want to cross the Talmadge Bridge.

Registration closes when the event fills to capacity limit or on January 30, 2012, whichever occurs first. For more registration info, click here.

Bridging to the Next Century
7-11 AM Sat. March 10
Thousands of Girl Scouts will cross over the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge to symbolically “bridge” to the second century of the Girl Scout organization. Girls must be at least 10 years old or older to cross. Transportation will be provided to a party in Forsyth Park after the bridge walk. Registration ended in January.
Bridging at the Park 10 AM- Noon Sat. March 10, 2012: An additional ceremony will take place simultaneously at Forsyth Park for younger Girl Scouts and anyone that may not want to cross the Talmadge Bridge.

A post-bridging gathering in Forsyth Park that includes a “Sing Along”, led by Girl Scout Songstress, Melinda Caroll and activities for all ages. Participants will receive a special commemorative patch.
