Georgia Tech Savannah Summer 2023 Program For Rising 2nd & 3rd Graders

This summer, rising second and third graders are invited to come to Georgia Tech Savannah to experience high-quality and uniquely themed programs designed to enhance and encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for science, mathematics, engineering, art, and technology.

From fairytales and food science to exploring the ocean and more, students will experience different themed hands-on programming each week.

This GT CEISMC (Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing) will be located at the Georgia Tech Savannah Campus. Each day will run from 8:30AM-3PM.

Program Details:

Fairytale Science (June 5-9) | $350

Explore the world of Fairytales through this week of science experiments, cooking exploration and magical mysteries. Students will learn about a new fairytale each day and will delve into the how and why of different aspects of each story.

Create with LEGO (June 12-16) | $350

Learn construction, gear ratios, programming, and more during this week-long intro to LEGO engineering. Students will work with LEGO Spike kits to build structures and bring them to life.

Exploring STEM in Music (June 20-23) | $250

Learn how to create music using technology, kinesthetics, recycled materials, and more! Discover what music is, where to find it in daily life, and how to make your own.

Mad Scientist (June 26-30) | $350

Do you know what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar? What about all the ingredients needed to make glow in the dark slime? What is a non-Newtonian liquid? Join us to get messy and hands-on with new science experiments each day.

Exploring the Ocean (July 10-14) | $350

Take a deep dive into the world of underwater. How do whales hold their breathe for so long? Can sharks really smell blood in the water? How many different types of fish are there? Explore these questions and more using hands-on activities and a field trip!

Food Science (July 17-21) | $300

Have you ever wanted to know why bread rises? How does cake go from batter to fluff? Can you make ice cream using a soccer ball? Explore these questions and more through this week full of hands-on food based experiments.
