Free Family Day @ Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center, Savannah

Get ready for a day of family fun, as Telfair offers an all-ages event celebrating The Age of Armor. 

Visitors can see armor and mock battle demonstrations throughout the afternoon presented by the Shire of Forth Castle (Savannah area chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism) and members of Schola St. George (a group focused on the knightly culture and chivalric arts of the later Middle Ages) from Atlanta and the Southeast. SCA members will demonstrate period crafts, and children will make art projects inspired by the exhibition.

Don’t forget, Telfair’s New Children’s Art Museum will also be open and free to local residents on this day.

Start your day with art with Telfair Museums’ monthly program for children & their caretakers: Art Start @ the Jepson Center.

Once a month, Telfair Museums’ youngest patrons are invited to the Jepson Center for story time, a special tour, and an art activity. Strollers, crying babies, toddlers, and older siblings are all welcome here.

The Jepson Center is now home to an engaging and immersive children’s art museum.

With museum admission, visitors can explore Impressionism in this state-of-the-art, multi-level play space.
