Free Jepson Family Day 2022 Savannah

Telfair Museums’ PULSE Art + Technology Festival 2022 will feature amazing exhibitions at the Jepson Center in Savannah, lectures by featured artists, curator’s and artists’ tours, and a Free Family Day.

Kid-friendly highlights of the festival include:

March 4, 6-8PM PULSE Free Friday Night & Evening Performance: “Spaces: A Multimedia Performance with Dance, Sound and Interactive Visuals by Tybee Ballet Theater (Britt Bacon, Vinay Arora, Kate Petit). Enjoy activities in the museum between 6-8PM including a 360 video photo booth and LED pin making workshop (Ages 16+).

March 5, 10AM-5PM PULSE Free Family Day at the Jepson Center. Enjoy a day of free admission to the Jepson Center to explore the new PULSE exhibitions. Hands on art making activities 1-4PM only.

March 5, 10AM-12PM Youth Workshop: “Connections through Code.” (Students grades 6-8)
Instructor, Sage Batchelor, Co-founder of Girls Who Code Savannah will be introducing the youth to the Scratch programming toolkit to make an interactive artwork.

All PULSE programs are free admission thanks to investment by the City of Savannah, the Georgia Council for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Please note some programs require advance registration.

Wed. March 2
6 p.m. Curator and artist tour of Jepson Center exhibitions
6-8 p.m. Immersive projection, “Return,” by artist John Colette in Jepson Center atrium

Thurs.March 3
11 a.m. Tech talk for students with Ryan Buyssens and Aidan Lincoln Fowler
6 p.m. Lecture and discussion with lead PULSE artist Chul Hyun Ahn on his career, which evolved from painting into the creation of mind-bending light sculptures exhibited worldwide
6-8 p.m. Immersive projection, “Return,” by artist John Colette in Jepson Center atrium

Friday, March 4
11 a.m. Tech talk for students with Chul Hyun Ahn, Kelley McClung, Greg Finger, and John Colette
2 p.m. Curator’s tour of Jepson Center exhibitions with Harry DeLorme
6-8 p.m. “Spaces: A Multimedia Performance with Dance, Sound, and Interactive Visuals by Tybee Ballet Theater” in the Jepson Center atrium. Enjoy activities including a 360-degree video photo booth, LED pin-making workshop for ages 16-and-up, and more. Plus the immersive projection “Return” by artist John Colette.

Saturday, March 5
10 a.m.-5 p.m. PULSE Free Family Day at the Jepson Center, with free admission to explore PULSE and other museum exhibitions. Youth workshop “Connections through Code” from 10 a.m.-noon. Hands-on art activities from 1-4 p.m.
