The A-Town Get Down Art & Music Festival will return to Savannah for its 8th year on Sat. April 21 2018, noon-10PM on Indian Street – Under the Bridge, between Fahm and Warner Streets.

The festival, held each year in memory and honor of SCAD student Alex “A-Town” Townsend, operates with the mission of increasing access to art and music experiences throughout the Savannah community. There will be endless entertainment for attendees of all ages.

Savannah’s hands-on, interactive, family-friendly celebration of live art, music, and food truck cuisine includes a robust musical lineup of familiar favorites, including headliner Chuck Leavell, who many in the Savannah area will remember as a key figure in The Allman Brothers Band. Leavell’s keyboard work has also been heard on the works of Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, and many other prominent artists.

A-Town Get Down Festival Savannah free 2018 Festival attendees will also enjoy performances by The New Familiars, called ‘an Americana rock & roll fixture’ in the southeast; Southern Avenue, considered to be Memphis’ best soul, blues and gospel band; Randall Bramblett, dubbed by Rolling Stone as “one of the South’s most lyrical and literate songwriters;” and more.

As with every A-Town Festival, professional local and regional artists will produce live art installations and large-scale performances as well as participate in interactive workshops with festival attendees of all ages.

The A-Town Get Down Art & Music Festival sees many returning sponsors who annually support this interactive day of art and music experiences.
