Lights on for Tybee 2017: Christmas tree lighting

A celebratory Tybee tradition downtown with the tree lighting
Mayor Buelterman lights the Christmas tree at the Roundabout. Following the lighting ceremony, the choir – led by performers with the Tybee Arts Performing Society – will lead you from the tree to the steps of Historic Carbo House for holiday entertainment & singalongs.
Tybee Beautification will present the Best Decorated Business awards. Gretchen Greene School of Dance students will perform
Followed by the arrival of Santa Claus.
Plus, gently falling snowflakes from the Sea & Breeze throughout the evening.
Complimentary refreshments will be available at participating locations throughout downtown during the evening celebration.

House of the Christmas Mouse: Holiday Shopping for Kids
Dec 2-3, 2017
The Tybee Arts Association welcomes kids to come to the Arts Center for this year’s House of the Christmas Mouse. There will be a plethora of Christmas gifts at children prices available for your little ones to do their holiday shopping on Sat Dec. 2 (10AM – 1PM & 4-6PM) and Sun. Dec. 3 (10AM-2PM). Plus, horse drawn carriage rides will be offered on Saturday.

Tybee Island Christmas Parade 2017 
Sat. Dec. 2 2017, 1-4 PM
Line the streets and share your holiday joy as festive, spirited participants lead Santa from the 14th Street beachfront parking lot to the Tybee Gym. Following the parade, kids can spend time with Santa & enjoy the games and activities provided by the YMCA of Coastal GA – Tybee Island Branch.

The Tour de Christmas Lights bike parade
7PM Sat. Dec. 9 2017
Light up your bikes & golf carts. The Tour de Christmas Lights parade begins & ends at A-J’s Dockside (1315 Chatham Ave.).
Registration: 3-6PM. The oyster roast, door prizes, and raffle drawing begin at 4:30PM. The “best of” judging begins at 6PM. The parade will start at 7PM.
After the winner is announced, the riding begins for touring the island’s lights & downtown spontaneous stops. Proceeds & donations benefit the Rising TYde Community Food Pantry.

18th Annual Tybee Polar Bear Plunge

Dress up, have fun & jump into the Atlantic with thousands of your closest friends @ noon to celebrate the beginning of 2018.
