Special Fathers’ Day Program @ Old Fort Jackson, Savannah

Ck2NhPSXIAABqvSOld Fort Jackson in Savannah will have a special Father’s Day Program: “Our Father’s Wars” on Father’s Day, June 19, 2016, 9AM-5PM

Celebrate the generations of families who defended Savannah during the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War on the site of Old Fort Jackson. Gain the perspective of soldiers and learn about their family ties and the weaponry used by their fathers during these wars.

The day will include family friendly activities to remember many of the individuals and units in the American, British, Confederate, and Union armies that served at Fort Jackson. Guests can also witness a weapons demonstration with our 32 pounder Seacoast Gun from 1824, one of the largest and oldest cannons still being fired in the U.S.

This event is open to the public with the cost of regular admission, $7 for adults and $4 for children 2 to 12 years old.
