Want to fire Old Fort Jackson cannons?

On March 6-7, Old Fort Jackson’s annual Family Campover in Savannah returns bigger and better than ever.

This year, junior campers will be trained as soldiers from the American Revolution and participate in a reenactment of the 1779 Battle of Savannah.  Adults will train as Civil War soldiers and learn the drill on the rifled muskets and 12 lb. howitzer and then actually fire these weapons.

That’s right adults, for the first time ever – you will have the opportunity to fire Old Fort Jackson’s muskets and cannons. Register here.

Once registered you will be contacted regarding an event packet for this event.

Registration and tent set up will begin at 5:30pm, dinner is served at 6:15, followed by these exciting activities. The night will end with s’mores and songs from The American Revolution. The next morning, campers will rise, pack up their gear, enjoy a hot breakfast and then participate in closing ceremonies.
