Living history Civil War program & Get Outdoors Festival @ Fort McAllister, Richmond Hill

Fort McAllister Living History program Savannah 2015“Before the Storm” at Fort McAllister State Park in Richmond Hill just outside Savannah this Sat. Nov. 14 2015.

Fort McAllister, a 1,725-acre Georgia state historic park, will host “Before the Storm,” a living history program.

This is the perfect chance to see life as a Civil War soldier. Step back in time to 1864, a time when Georgia was in great peril. This program features soldiers preparing for the invading armies of General Sherman, who attacked the fort on December 13, 1864.

They will be firing their muskets and the cannon throughout the weekend. Walk among the soldiers as they go about their preparations and drills.
