The 1st annual Tomato Festival – featuring over 10,000 lbs of LOCAL tomatoes – is this Sat. July 12. The day will kick-off with a tomato obstacle run. After crossing the finish line, runners will enter into an all-out tomato food fight. Eye protection required.
Highlights include a hose off station for food-fight participants, kids activities, live music, food and fun.
The event schedule:
8:00 a.m.- Registration/runners sign in
10:00 a.m.- Kids Fun Run- ½ mile
10:30 a.m.- Tomato Bash Obstacle Run 5K-Timed
11:00 a.m.- Tomato Bash Obstacle Run 5K
12:00 p.m.- Tomato Fight
Kids Zone- Will be open from 11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Proceeds from the Tomato Festival benefit local YMCA’s Annual Scholarship Campaign giving kids a chance by offering discounted programs and memberships to families and children in need.
