FREE Picnic in the Park 2014, Savannah, Oct. 5

Savannah Picnic in the Park 2014The City of Savannah and Parker’s present Picnic in the Park – a beloved Savannah tradition that takes place in Forsyth Park on Sunday, October 5, 2014. This event celebrates the National Arts and Humanities month by featuring an evening of live music, family friendly activities, and a creative spread of picnics big and small!

Every year, Picnickers have an opportunity to enter the legendary “Picnic Contest”. Picnickers are encouraged to design an imaginative picnic spread that is inspired by the suggested theme. This year’s theme is ‘Fly Me to the Moon’; a romantic song recorded by a famous cabaret singer Mabel Mercer, and later by Johnny Mathis. Picnickers are encouraged to design an imaginative picnic spread embracing a night of romance and love in Savannah’s beautiful city park.

Those who enter their spread in the picnic contest will be eligible to win an array of prizes presented by the Picnic Contest Host, Parker’s.

Picnic in the Park is funded by the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs along with the presenting sponsor, Parker’s.
