Jumpbunch is an International Sports and Fitness program serving children and families throughout the US and India! JumpBunch of Greater Savannah is currently offering classes in Savannah and Richmond Hill at Children’s Village, PALS, Early Learning, Maggies Morning School, Richmond Hill Montessori, Southern Montessori and many more locations.

FREE INTRODUCTORY CLASS FRIDAY SEPT. 30 AT 9:30 am

JumpBunch is offering a 10 week session beginning on Oct. 3 – Nov. 28
The class offered will be Monday morning at 9:30 am located at New Life Church at 16252 Hwy 144 E in Richmond Hill, GA.

Cost: for the 9 weeks is only $65 (JumpBunch offers a military discount of 10$ off)

Each week, JumpBunch offers a cardio workout, muscle resistance training and introduces a new sport activity in a fun, hands-on, non-competitive environment. At this stage JumpBunch is building confidence and coordination.

Hayride & Pumpkin Patch – Climb on board one of our hay wagons and take a ride in the country down to the pumpkin patch where everyone gets to pick that “just right” pumpkin to take home with them. This is also the perfect location for beautiful fall photographs.

Duck Races – Come propel your “rubber ducky” down the shoot and into the water trough by pumping an old fashion hand water pump while racing your friends!!

Cow Train – Hop on board, fasten your seatbelt, and get ready to ride one of our 10 cows powered by a lawnmower! You may choose Moo-Linda, Bessie, Sweet Pea, Big Bertha or one of the others but they are all guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

Steer Roping – Say you always wanted to be a cowboy? Well here’s your chance, and you don’t even have to worry about falling off of your horse!

Petting Farm – Visit with Bunny the Pony, Elvis & Pearl the Donkeys, Claude the Llama, Vanilla & Chocolate the Sheep, Cheese & Quackers the Ducks, AbraHAM & LINKon the Pigs, Henny Penny, Miss Prissie, and a host of their other barnyard friends. Come watch Bill, Oreo & Cornelius as they cross over the “Golden Goat Bridge”.

Famous Catfish Pond – Watch the catfish have their breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Some are estimated to weigh at least 10 lbs. or more. Some days they may eat 15 – 20 times, we currently have them on a diet, we are trying to avoid having WHALES by the end of October.

Farmer Brown’s Playground – Come and jump on the GIANT Crop Hopper (a really big jumping air pillow), dig in the Sand Pile, Fly down the Spyder Slyder, and have lots of good ole farmin fun!!!

10 –Acre Cornfield Maze – “We Love March Of Dimes” we have a tiny tot entrance that can be walked in appox. 15 minutes for the young and the young at heart.

General Information

Picnic Area – We have tents with picnic tables available for your use. You are welcome to either bring your own food or eat with us. The Calf-A concession stand will be grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches. We will also have french fries, popcorn, candy and lots of other delicious treats along with ice cold Coca-Cola products.

The job is a part time sales & customer relationship manager at a new Savannah technology startup that was started by a local mother-of-two. It’s a contract position with flexible hours.

The candidate should be a self-motivated individual with professional experience to develop and maintain relationships with clients for a web based iPhone/Android app product. Savannah Music Festival offers year-round concerts including family zydeco & Roger Day concerts

We love that The Savannah Music Festival (SMF) is now offering a year-round concert series – SMF LIVE – that includes a family zydeco concert Oct. 22 & music education programs for school children such as the Roger Day Marsh Madness Concert Sept. 26.

Of course, the main 2012 Savannah Music Festival will take place March 22 through April 7. But this new SMF LIVE Concert Series runs from September through April.

The new series includes the following performances:

Roger Day’s Marsh Madness, 11 AM Sept. 26 at the Trustees Theater (216 E. Broughton Street). Details here.
Nashville-based musician Roger Day (Parent’s choice award winner) will perform his latest show, Marsh Madness, co-commissioned by the Georgia Sea Grant and the Savannah Music Festival. Songs such as Fiddler Groove, Jesse the Turtle Girl, Alligator in My Refrigerator and Mosquito Burrito will be featured in this 50-minute educational performance. Details here.
TERRANCE SIMIEN & THE ZYDECO EXPERIENCE Saturday, October 22 at American Legion Post 135 Family Zydeco at 3 pm, $20 ($5 for kids under 12), Zydeco Dance Party at 8 pm. Details here.

SMF Year-Round Educational Programming includes:

· Swing Central Jazz- which has been called the Pro Bowl of high school jazz band competitions – continues to bring twelve of the nation’s most talented high school big bands to Savannah for a three-day workshop and competition led by pianist/composer/educator Marcus Roberts. SMF is also enhancing its web-based learning center at www.swingcentraljazz.org , offering free video lessons to aspiring jazz musicians.

· Acoustic Music Seminar- a new program that brings together mandolinist/composer/educator Mike Marshall and an exceptional team of professional American instrumentalists including Tony Trischka, Chris Thile, Julian Lage, Bruce Molsky and Edgar Meyer. Over the course of a week, this team of teachers will provide free instruction for 15-20 of the best acoustic musicians in the country.

· Residencies include Roger Day, Terrance Simien & Zydeco Experience and Billy Jonas, each of whom SMF will bring into a total of 30 schools, Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCAs in five surrounding counties in coastal Georgia and South Carolina. In all, SMF music education programming will reach more than 20,000 students in the 2011/2012 season. (My son can’t wait to see Roger Day’s Marsh Madness concert next week on a school field trip!)

We took advantage of my son’s delayed pre-K start date & visited Atlanta this week. The highlight was definitely the spectacular 30-minute live dolphin show. Weekdays shows are the best to attend. We were able to sit front & center and even got splashed – happily – by the jumping & twirling dolphins. Show details & ticket info here.

Music and Me, The Sandbox Interactive Children’s Museum, Hilton Head Is.

Come make an interactive song book which includes a sing-along CD.

Participants will learn favorite children songs through singing, dancing, playing instruments and acting.  In this fun 60 minute session we will create “song cards” or a story board you can make and take home to help you remember each song.  “The best part is when we’re done, a recording of our sing-along will be made available to participants,”
say Dr. Ondishko.  “You can use the music tracks at home for family fun karaoke! Making music together is a great way to spend memorable time with someone you love.”

Denise (Dede) Ondishko, Ph.D. will lead these workshops for you and your child. Dr. O. (as she is called by the children) is a composer, pianist and school music teacher living here on Hilton Head Island.  With over 21 years of experience working with young musicians, she is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Music.  She loves to develop the innate musicianship in young children and shares her love of music with all. Children and adults will enjoy learning music with her.

There is an additional $5 charge for Music and Me.  Join us each Wednesday and have fun singing, dancing and making music. Museum general admission is $6 per person.

The Sandbox is an interactive children’s museum with region related exhibits, activities, and programs for children’s ages toddler through 9 years. The museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tuesdays at 3:45 p.m. Food Art: Creative Nutrition for Kids. Come have a healthy snack and learn ways to make nutritional foods fun for kids.

An Interactive Children’s Museum is hosting Food Art: Creative Nutrition for Kids every Tuesday through November 15, 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Food Art program provides a snack, recipes, and demonstrations and illustrations of healthy fun foods for kids. The topic and craft will vary each week. Community Nutritionists will also be participating in this program. Parents and children will learn how to make fun healthy snacks and foods for kids and the entire family.

This Program is included in the museum general admission fee of $6 per person.

The Sandbox, An Interactive Children’s Museum, is hosting Pajama Night on Tuesday, September 20, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at The Sandbox.

Come in your pajamas to listen to Scott Strom from the Hilton Head Library read a series of bedtime books. Then make a craft project that is related to one of the stories. Following the reading and craft project, families can stay and play at the museum and enjoy lemonade and cookies.

The Pajama Night programs will be held the third Tuesday of each month.

Students will receive take home materials documenting their approaches and progress.

6th annual Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk Festival. This kid-friendly event will be hosted at Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Rides, food, games, and music for the whole family. Registration begins at 8:30 AM. The cost of registration is $12 per person. The walk starts at 10:30 AM. The festival  in the park lasts until 2 PM.

Simply Children’s Dentistry supports the Annual Buddy Walk Festival in Forsyth Park

Simply Children’s Dentistry in Savannah is asking families to come join them in the 6th annual Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk Festival.

This kid-friendly event will be hosted at Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Rides, food, games, and music for the whole family. Registration begins at 8:30 AM. The cost of registration is $12 per person. The walk starts at 10:30 AM. The festival  in the park lasts until 2 PM.

The Buddy Walk was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to bring together a wide range of concerned individuals to reach out to friends, family, and co-workers to promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down Syndrome and to raise funds for education, research, and advocacy programs.

Dr. Kamiti Harden believes in all children and because she is an advocate for children, Simply Children’s Dentistry will be attending and participating in this annual walk. You and your families are invited to participate.

Public invited to Coastal Empire Montessori Charter School Fall Festival, Savannah

Coastal Empire Montessori Charter School Parent-Teacher Organization invites the public to the school’s fall celebration.

Come celebrate the season with Minute-to-Win-It-type games played for prizes, face painting, improvisation demonstrations from Savannah Children’s Theater, bounce houses, silent auction, concessions and much more.

When: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011
Admission: $5 per carload; additional tickets required for games and concessions. $15 wristbands for unlimited rides.

Besides a day of food and fun, the surrounding community will have an opportunity to learn about the school and the Montessori curriculum. Proceeds will benefit the PTO who will provide financial assistance to the school for curriculum support, enrichment programs, campus beautification, and future community outreach projects.
