This Saturday, Aug. 12 2017 Healthy Savannah will host the Healthy Kids Community Expo at Brock Elementary School. The event features focused workshops ranging from healthy cooking classes, community gardening, fitness and nutrition, and more.

Attendees will enjoy brunch and talk about what we can do together to make the healthy choice the easy choice in Savannah. There will be arts and crafts for children. General information and outreach will be available at several booths, and focused workshops on topics will occur from 11AM-12:30PM. This event is a part of a national effort to become the healthiest city in the country – a segment around these efforts will be featured from 11:30 to 12:30.

Healthy Savannah has partnered with several schools, including Brock Elementary, to develop community-driven strategies to make it easier for people to get active and eat well. Healthy Savannah was recently named one of 50 finalists in the Healthiest Cities & Counties Challenge, a national partnership between the Aetna Foundation, the American Public Health Association and the National Association of Counties. The partnership empowers small to mid-size U.S. cities and counties to create a positive health impact over the course of several years.
