*Archery: Saturday May 3 & Saturday May 17. Hour-long slots available during the hours listed. Learn the basics of archery and test your skills on the range. Program will cover basic safety and technique. Equipment provided. Participants must be at least 10 years old. $10 per person. Please call the Visitor Center to reserve your hour in advance. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes ear￾ly to locate and check in at the archery range (after Picnic Shelter 5, before the Big Ferry Trailhead. Look for signs.) Coffee with a Ranger: 10am Sunday May 25. Grab a cup of coffee and sit for a spell. Have a chat with our naturalist, who will be available at the fire ring behind the Visitor Center. This is your chance to discuss the history, flora, and fauna at Skidaway Island with one of our friendly, knowledgeable rangers. Coffee and tea available for sale in the gift shop or bring your own.

Fun with Amphibians: 10AM Sunday May 4. Amphibians are FUN! Join our naturalist to learn all about the frogs, toads, and salamanders that live in our area.

History HikeHow to Build an Island: 10am Sunday May 18. Natural history buffs will enjoy this exciting hike all about the formation of the barrier islands in our area, including information about the mega fauna that once lived here. Meet at the Big Ferry Trailhead for a 1.5 mile hike.

*History with a Twist: 1-3PM Sat. May 24. It’s 2025 and we’re celebrating 50 years as a state park. Come learn about the history of the area and park while you create and tie-dye your own unique souvenir t-shirt. $20 per person. Sizes available: S, M, L, XL. Shirts are plain white with a special 50 year commemorative design printed in black. Supplies provided. Please call the Visitor Center to register in advance. Meet on the sidewalk on the right side of the Visitor Center. Call in advance to register: 912.598.2300.

iNaturalist 101: 10am Sat. May 10 Are you an iNaturalist user? Learn how to use this powerful citizen science tool. We will show you how to use the smartphone and desktop applications to make observations, suggest identifications, explore wildlife in the local area, and more! Download the app and create an account ahead of time to get the most out of this program. Meet in front of the Visitor Center for a brief tutorial before we head outside to make observations.

Read with a Ranger: 10am Tues. May 6 & May 20. Young children and their families will enjoy getting out for this hour of interactive reading. Listen to nature stories perfect for children with a love of the outdoors. Meet at the Interpretive Center; program will be held outside in fair weather.

Roving Ranger: A ranger will be roving the trails to answer your questions about local flora, fauna, and more.

Snakes of Skidaway: Come by the Interpretive Center to learn all about one of our ambassador snakes. You will have the opportunity to meet and touch the snake while you learn about its behavior, habitat, and more!

Many of the hikes offered are accessible to visitors who require mobility assistance. Thanks to our partnership with the Aimee Copeland Foundation, an Action Track Chair is now available for reservation at Skidaway Island State Park. Reservations are limited to certified users. Eligibility requirements must be met to qualify for certification.
Visit https://www.allterraingeorgia.org/reserve for more information about becoming certified and making reservations. Geƫting certified is easy and approval takes about 7 days. All reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance.
