The Savannah Sailing Center offers these two fun and challenging 2019 summer sailing camps @ Lake Mayer in Savannah.
Summer “Guppy” Camp for ages 5-7
This is a program for children 5-7 years of age. This program will introduce the sport of sailing to water loving children. Our curriculum will focus on safety around the water and will introduce the sport of sailing with age appropriate activities. Children must know how to swim and will wear lifejackets at all times while on the water.

Summer “Catch the Wind” Full-Day Camp for ages 8 & older
“Catch the Wind” summer camp program is designed for kids ages 8 and older of all abilities and skill levels. The classes are structured to allow for maximum sailing time and personal attention. Beginners participate in a small 8ft Optimist or 15ft Sunfish sailboat, depending on their size. Those with more experience can sail in a 2-person 420 sailboat, also used for high school and college sailing. The summer camp instructors follow the US Sailing curriculum and skills learned are documented with the US Sailing certification record book.

Here’s an opportunity for children with Type 1 Diabetes to build confidence & strengthen their relationship with food in a healthy way: the Camp Kudzu Food for Thought Program in Savannah on May 18 2019.
The day will include a hands-on, low-carb snack challenge where children will work in teams to “shop” for their ingredients, work together to make a tasty recipe and understand how to count carbs and calculate their respective insulin dose.
Kids will participate in a “mock” dining experience where they will work in teams to estimate carb content of foods that are served to them just like in a restaurant or at a friend’s house for a sleepover. Practicing the estimation of carb counts based on identifying ingredients will boost their confidence in real-world settings.
Participants will partake in a food demonstration with the Charlie Cart Project which integrates the educational program with a mobile kitchen to deliver hands-on nutrition education. Parent education sessions will be offered during child activity time. Plan to have one adult attend.

Coastal Empire Lacrosse is a team oriented lacrosse program for beginners, intermediate and advanced players. Coaches stress the fundamentals and subtle nuances of the game over “winning at all costs”. CE Lacrosse believes in hard work, unselfish play, and building character.
Teams will practice during the week with games on the weekends. Some travel is necessary to get more games, but teams mostly play against local teams throughout the year.
No experience necessary. Teams are for all players to learn, grow and have fun. Rental lacrosse equipment is available.

YMCA of Coastal Georgia excited to announce an exciting partnership between the Habersham YMCA, Islands YMCA, the WNBA and the Jr. NBA!
This season, YMCA of Coastal Georgia is looking to get more girls on the court and involved in recreation basketball. All registered female players ages 7-14 will be invited to participate in the YMCA’s new, free Girls Initiative program.
This weekly program will include an hour long session featuring basketball skill instruction, leadership and confidence curriculum, free merchandise and lots of fun with partners from the WNBA.
The free program is designed to create a safe space for young girls to learn and be active.

Tot Time classes begin to teach basic stretching & tumbling skills. In these fun classes, Mom (Dad or Grandparents) will help the child with front rolls, stretching, splits & other exercises. Many of the things learned in these classes can be repeated at home to strengthen skills & ability even more.

Designed for girls and boys ages 3-5, and focuses on providing a fun and educational experience for young athletes. Crowned Elite Athletics in Savannah is offering these specialty classes: Stretch & Flex, Pre-Flight as well as Jump Class.
Jump Class
This class will focus on proper stretching technique and extensive strength training to complete all required jump positions. In addition to stretching and conditioning, instructors will train proper arm and leg placement to perform each jump successfully and correctly. Athletes will learn Toe Touch, Pike Jump, Hurdlers, Combination Jumps, and Jumps into Tumbling.

Stretch & Flex for ages 5 & older
Stretching is not only beneficial for jumps and flyer flexibility, but it also reduces the overall risk of injury for all star athletes as well as athletes in our tumbling classes. This stretching class will focus on the proper techniques of stretching the right, left, and middle splits, proper back flexibility, and proper shoulder flexibility. Ages 5 and up are welcome.

Flight classes
Pre-Flight
Learn the basics of flight to become a phenomenal competition cheerleader. Athletes will learn proper flexibility techniques and body positions for flyers such as heel stretches, scorpions, and bow & arrows. Open to anyone interested in learning or working on flying skills.

Crowned Elite Athletics in Savannah is offering a Little Cheer class for girls and boys ages 3-5, and focuses on providing a fun and educational experience for young athletes.
Cost: classes are $55 per month (one class per week)
Classes are:
4:15-5PM Wednesdays
5-5:45PM Thursdays
The Little Cheer program introduces each little cheerleader to all aspects of tumbling and will prepare them for future movement into one of our higher level tumbling classes. Your athlete will be taught proper stretching technique and these specific skills: Forward Roll, Backward Roll, Handstand, Handstand Forward Roll, Left and Right Side Cartwheel, Round Off Rebound, Bridge Up, Bridge Down and an understanding of the Back Bend Kick Over as well as get an introduction to various cheer motions.

Crowned Elite Athletics in Savannah is offering a Ninja Warrior training class for kids ages 4-12 years old of any athletic ability.
Class is 6-7PM Thursdays @ Crowned Elite Athletics in Savannah.
COST: $55 per month (one class per week).
Has your child been running around the house bouncing off furniture like an American Ninja Warrior? At Crowned Elite Athletics Ninja Warrior training class, Little Ninjas will run, jump, swing, and bounce on some of the same obstacles (scaled down, of course) featured on the real American Ninja Warrior show.
