Get Out the Vote Rally
May 20th is just eight days away. Join Savannah-Chatham school board president candidate Jolene Byrne for an old-fashioned Get Out the Vote Rally this Friday, May 16 from 5:30-6:30 PM in Calhoun Square.
Children are encouraged to bring homemade campaign signs. Tee shirts will be available for the first 20 adults and the first 20 children who arrive. Campaign stickers will be there for all!
Jolene Byrne is the only candidate for Chatham County School Board President who has a child in public school, Jolene was a teacher at Groves high school and currently teaches at Savannah State University.

Torticollis or wry neck is a condition where a child’s neck is twisted, stiff, painful or sore. This condition can cause the head to tilt to one side while the chin tilts in the opposite direction. Torticollis develops due to problems with the upper spine and/or the muscles and nerves located in the neck.
Torticollis can affect infants at birth or it can develop throughout childhood and adult life. Either way, it can severely limit movement of the neck and cause a great deal of discomfort and pain.

Before the star-gazing, you’re also invited to a free showing of a classic 1950s sci-fi movie in the Annex. Be prepared for less-than-ideal acting and effects in the movie, but know telescope views of the rising moon and stars await you on the Great Lawn.

Bynuh’s’ Field, about a half-mile north of the Bethesda Arch, is an extraordinary venue with canopies of live oaks and vistas across the marshes of Savannah’s Moon river. From Whitfield Avenue / Diamond Causeway, turn northeast on Ferguson Avenue toward Skidaway Road, pass the Bethesda Arch and look for the new entrance to our games on the right, on Ferguson Avenue.
