Savannah’s family-friendly Realtor: Matthew Allan of Keller Williams Realty

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

Matthew Allan of Keller Williams Realty has a special offer benefitting an extremely important cause.

Matthew will have a button ad on SouthernMamas.com, as well as a recurring banner ad, and will be contributing information about the real estate market to our website. If a SouthernMamas reader contacts Matthew and mentions the ad, and he assists in the purchase or sale of a home, Matthew will donate 10% of his net commission from that transaction to The Next Generation, Benefitting The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.

Matthew and his wife are the parents of a toddler, and recognize how important it is to have the best health care for our children. The Next Generation is an organization comprised of young professionals, neighbors, parents, and friends throughout Savannah and the Coastal Empire who are interested in donating their time, talents, and financial resources to the patients and families of the Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. The Next Generation is committed to:
* Ensuring that children and families of the Coastal Empire and surrounding areas have access to a premier healthcare facility without having to leave Savannah.
* Donating their time and resources to benefit patients and families at our local facility.
* Providing access to healthcare and parenting educational opportunities for their own families and families in our community.

In the next year, The Next Generation plans to:
* Purchase medical equipment on the “wish list” created by hospital staff.
* Provide Birthday and “End of Chemotherapy” celebrations to pediatric patients in the hospital.
* Decorate the three pediatric wings for holidays.
* Conduct educational socials for families in our community.

Matthew’s business as a real estate professional is based on helping families make the right choices about their largest financial investment, their home. His association with The Next Generation and SouthernMamas will work in tandem with that family-first goal.

Matthew has also assured us that if a Southern Mamas reader needs help outside the geographic areas Matthew services, he will provide another agent at Keller Williams Realty who not only specializes in your area, but who will also make the same commitment to giving 10% of their net commission to The Next Generation. Keller Williams Realty is the largest real estate company in Savannah, so whether it’s Matthew or another agent, you will be working with a top professional committed to the community.

Kid-friendly neighborhoods in Bluffton

Friday, October 12th, 2007

bluffton-seal.jpg Driving to Palmetto Bluff to see Patrick Dougherty’s outdoor sculpture, you can’t miss all the new homes being built in the Bluffton area. As a Realtor with Cora Bett Thomas, Stacey Macioszek knowns firsthand which ones are family-friendly. She dishes on the area’s housing boom in her Bluffton SC Real Estate blog.

SouthernMamas asked Stacey to name the best new Bluffton neighborhoods for kids. Here are her picks:

  • May River Plantation: River access and a few neighborhood amenities. Secluded with a great location to future shopping/schools.
  • Martin’s Place: Compact family neighborhood in the heart of Bluffton. Great values on semi-custom homes on smaller lots.
  • Shell Hall: Family neighborhood recently purchased by Legacy Group. Zero-entry pool, croquet courts, tennis courts, fitness center and community building for private functions. Close to schools.
  • The Heritage at New Riverside: A 365-acre family neighborhood transected by the Bluffton Linear Trail, offering residents access to outdoor recreation; butterfly garden; playgrounds; pocket parks with picnic tables; fitness center; dog park; volley ball court.
  • While the housing growth means the local public schools are overcrowded, the good news is the Bluffton area’s getting a new elementary school, middle school and high school.

Stacey says people are moving to Bluffton for a better quality of life. One her clients moved from the Jersey shore, where his work commute was 1.5 hours each way. Now he commutes 10 minutes. Moving to Bluffton “allowed him to finally be a Dad,” Stacey said. “Plus, the size and type of house they purchased would have cost at least double in Jersey.”

“Bluffton is a way of life,” said Stacey. “That’s why we come. That’s why we stay.”
