Dye Easter Eggs Naturally with Food

Tuesday, March 27th, 2012

Concerned about dye in your child’s foods?

Then consider dying your Easter Eggs naturally this year with foods. That’s right, move over PAAS Easter Egg dye. Cabbage, blackberries, beets and more can be used to dye egg shells.

The helpful (and healthful) Website The Whole Tulip offers instructions on how you can color your eggs additive-free using real food. Check it out here. Happy Dye-Free Egg Hunting.

We just returned for a fun and festive daytrip to The Great Egg Hunt at Holiday Farms, just an hour-long drive up I-95 in Ridgeland, S.C. and we can’t say enough about what a perfect place this sweet farm is for kids to enjoy a hayride to an Easter Egg Hunt, plus oodles of other outdoor activities.

The adorable giant pastel Easter Eggs, flowers and bunnies made from haystacks (pictured here) decorate the entire farm – making ideal spring photo opportunities.

At Holiday Farms, kids can ride tryke bikes around the Haytona Speedway; jump their jumpies out in The Bounce House; see peacocks, donkeys, bunnies, pigs, goats and llamas in The Barnyard Zoo; and play many more outdoor games including duck races, steer roping, milking a faux cow and stick pony races.
