The 25th Annual Tara Feis Irish Celebration will be @ Emmet Park on March 12 from 11AM-5PM organized by the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs & the Tara Feis Committee.
Tara Feis (pronounced FESH) is a renowned Irish Festival that celebrates Irish heritage through live performances, cultural displays & crafts, served with a side of traditional Irish hospitality.
The one-day festival kicks off with a traditional Irish ceremony featuring the Parade Grand Marshal & local dignitaries in a procession of colorful flags & bagpipes.
The event will feature authentic Irish step dance, cultural displays, delicious food, fun rides, an assortment of crafts & an entire day of performances set to take place on two stages.
The Children’s stage will feature performers: Conrad Hartz Puppet Show, Magic Marc, the Irish Dancers of Savannah, the Legacy Irish Dance Academy.
The main stage will feature performances by host & singer Harry O’Donoghue, the Savannah Philharmonic Chorus, the Savannah Ceili Band & more Irish step dancing.
Headlining this year’s event is Cathy Maguire, Ciaran Sheehan & the band with musical director Gabriel Donohue.
Maguire will be joined on stage by Dublin Ireland native Ciaran Sheehan, who made his Broadway debut in “Les Miserables” & starred as Rauol in the renowned play “The Phantom of the Opera.”
This festival is a free non-alcoholic event geared towards families & children.
