Thirty-One Gifts Thermal Tote Fundraiser to Benefit Erin Fray, Hope for Savannah

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

thirty-one-gifts-thermal-toteHere is a wonderful opportunity for SouthernMamas readers to help get thermal totes desperately needed for cancer patients and raise money for Pooler mother-of three Erin Fray’s breast cancer battle. All you have to do is buy a $20 thermal tote from Thirty-One Gifts.

Here’s how the Thirty-One Gifts Thermal Tote Sale works.

The price of a regular Thermal Tote (like the one pictured) costs $23.11, which includes the tote, embroidery, tax and shipping.

During the January thermal tote fundraiser, the totes sell for an even $20, Thirty-One gifts consultants Tiffany Bradley and Amy Bonner will give Erin and her family $6.71 from each tote sold and donate a tote to Hope for Savannah.

thirtyonegiftssavannahHope for Savannah is a non-profit that seeks to offer comfort and hope to cancer patients and their families. Hope for Savannah also gives cancer patients items of comfort such as thermal totes so patients can to protect their medicine as they go back and forth to treatment. Hope for Savannah needs about 300 thermal totes for a year’s supply.

So every bit of that $20 you pay will be used to help local breast cancer patients. The $20 is still less than what customers would normally pay for this tote and it allows Thirty-One Gifts to provide outreach.

In addition to the per tote profit Erin and her family will receive, Thirty-One Gifts consultants Amy and Tiffany will also donate all of their commission from any of the totes that are purchased.

Purchasing 300 Thermal Totes for Hope for Savannah means raising almost $3,000 for Erin. Read more about Erin’s story by clicking here.

You can pre-order your totes now by contacting Tiffany or Amy by phone or email to place your orders. Because this is a fundraiser with special pricing, orders cannot be placed online.
Contact Amy Bonner via amybonner31@gmail.com or call (770) 891-8153
Contact Tiffany Bradley via email at tiffanybradley31@yahoo.com or call (912) 414-2859

Savannah children’s birthday party entertainer: Mr Magic

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

savannahchildrensbirthdaypartiesMy daughter spent most of her 2nd birthday party sitting on Santa’s lap.

She was in awe of the fact that Santa was in HER living room. Santa, aka Savannah children’s birthday entertainer Mr. Magic, is an ideal party theme for a child’s December birthday – especially for a toddler’s party on a cold and rainy Sunday. Mr. Magic offers a variety of birthday themes in addition to Santa and other characters. Each of his children’s birthday party shows is customized based on the age of the birthday child. His most popular theme is magic.

At Mr. Magic Show bd parties, special attention is given to the birthday child. Mr. Magic uses their name as the magic word and they participate in the show. They receive a Birthday card from Mr. Magic and a certificate suitable for framing to show that they participated in the show. Things appear and disappear right before their eyes, including a live white dove named Happy. And each child present will receive coloring picture of Mr. Magic to color and a free BALLOON ANIMAL of their choice, made right in front of them. Perfect for parties of 5 to 30.

For more info on birthday parties with The Mr. Magic Show, click here. Contact Mr. Magic, aka George C. Jones, 912-966-0390, email gjones5935@aol.com

We paired the Santa theme with a children’s music session with Savannah music teachers Amy Drew and Anthony Teixeira. The musicians performed a range of children’s and holiday sing-alongs, brought tons of instruments for the kids to play as well as cute animal masks and more. They kept the children entertained and engaged. Both offer private lessons in musical instruments and Ms. Amy has a new session of parent-and-me early childhood sessions starting in January at Ms. Amy’s School of Music in Savannah , a private studio just two blocks from Daffin Park in Savannah. Contact Ms. Amy’s School of Music in Savannah  via email at msamyschoolofmusic@gmail.com with any questions or if you would like a registration form.

Eat Chick-fil-A for Pooler mom Erin Fray

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

poolermomErin Fray gave birth to a baby boy on a Tuesday and was diagnosed with breast cancer three days later. The Pooler mother of three had her newborn Samuel with her at the OB/GYN office on Oct. 15 when her doctor told her she had stage one invasive ductal breast cancer.

Certainly, there is no “good” time to be diagnosed with such an aggressive form of cancer, but three days after having a child? It’s hard to imagine bravely taking on that battle with a newborn, plus a 2- and 3-year-old at home.

But that’s exactly what Erin is doing, with overwhelming support from her husband, Matt, a pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Pooler and a part-time teacher at Savannah Christian Preparatory School, and from their close-knit community.

Family and friends, members of their church, Erin’s Mothers of Preschoolers group and other churches help out in so many ways, bringing the family meals, baby-sitting, dropping off diapers, running errands and raising money.

This Tues. Dec. 14, an Erin Fray fundraising dinner will take place at Chick-fil-A of Pooler. Ten percent of the purchases made between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. will go toward helping to pay for medical costs not covered by the Frays’ insurance. The public is invited to attend. For more info on the event, click here.

Jamie Deen, son of Paula Deen and celebrity in his own right, will be one of the Celebrity Servers at Chick-fil-a Tuesday. Other local Celebrities include the Mayor of Pooler, Savannah Christian Headmaster Roger Yancey and WSAV’s Alice Massimi.

Please invite others to join!

Erin, 30, is documenting her battle as a young mother with cancer in the blog Joy in the Journey at erinfray.blogspot.com.
