Save Toddler Tuesdays @ Oatland Island

UPDATE: Michele Mazzei, who leads Toddler Tuesdays, emails with this great news: Toddler Tuesdays will continue during construction of the main building!!!

Oatland Island’s oatland-island.bmpToddler Tuesdays story-craft-animal program is in danger of disappearing again.

Starting In June 2009, Oatland Island’s main building will be undergoing a $5 million facelift. The animal exhibits and trails at Oatland Island will remain open during the construction. But the extensive renovations have put the future of the increasingly popular Toddler Tuesdays program at risk after June.

We need as many toddler programs as we can get in this area and don’t want to see the weekly Oatland event to come to an end. Let’s tell the folks @ Oatland Island how much we’d love for the Toddler Tuesday program to continue after June. Maybe the classroom at the Georgia Farm could serve as a substitute spot?

Please call Oatland and tell them to save Toddler Tuesday. 912.395.1212.

If you haven’t been to Toddler Tuesdays in a while, it’s grown into a much better and more organized program than when it started. This past week, in addition to crafts, stories & an egg hunt, baby ducks thrilled the kids by waddling around in the middle of circle time and moms broke into an impromptu chorus of Old MacDonald while waiting for the ducks to show up.

The good news is summer programs @ Oatland look kid-friendly and include:
