Take the kids to a mad scientist lab

madbannerreprintmar08.gif I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t know the Georgia Southern University Museum in Statesboro had kid-friendly exhibits. Thanks for savvy SouthernMama Kari Hunter for setting me straight!

Check out this interesting show, Mad Scientist Laboratory, that’s been extended throughout summer due to popular demand.

Here’s the description from the museum Web site: “You can never be quite sure what you’ll see in there, but it’s sure to be interesting! Things will pop, change color, stick together, spin around and go splat. You can wrap yourself up in a bubble, and wrap your mind around some surprising chemical properties. Come on in and get physical with physical science and return as experiments in the exhibit change!”

There’s also a separate exhibit, Expedition Georgia, through Aug. 3 that’s an adventure maze through southeast Georgia’s habitats.

Museum admission is $4.50 for adults, $3 for students and free to museum members.
