Should child birth be viewed as a natural life process? Or should every delivery be treated as a potentially catastrophic medical emergency? Are too many babies being born by C-section? And are too many women having their labors artificially induced?

Find out at a screening of the documentary “The Business of Being Born”, 3 pm Sun. Feb. 10 @ the Quality Inn & Suites on Hilton Head Island.

Compelled to find answers after a disappointing birth experience with her first child, actress Ricki Lake recruits filmmaker Abby Epstein to examine and question the way American women have babies. The film includes intimate birth stories and shocking statistics about the maternity care system. Click here for more details.

Following the film will be a question & answer panel with experienced professionals. The screening is part of the “Be Kind To You Expo” which runs 2-8 pm and is hosted by The Birth Connection. Call for ticket prices: 843.683.8750.
