Happy first day of spring.
What better way to celebrate than by taking part in a Savannah spring tradition: visiting the temporary hatchery that’s set up in the mall outside Belk’s @ Oglethorpe Mall a few days before Easter.
For more than two decades, Chatham County Cooperative Extension has run the display hatchery during the Easter season.
Kids can watch the chicks and quail emerge from their eggs and hold a newly hatched chick. The FREE! exhibit runs through Fri. March 21.
On Sat. March 22, the chicks move to Bamboo Farm & Coastal Gardens, Annual Spring Garden Festival, 2 Canebrake Road and U.S. 17 South. 912.921.5460. Here’s a schedule of the garden festival events:
